YOUTH PASTOR (Full-Time)

Northwood Church is seeking a full–time youth pastor to lead her ministry to junior and senior high students and their families.  Currently, Northwood Student Life (NSL) is a dynamic and mature ministry with a strong foundation that ministers to approximately 30 students regularly. NSL has a 15+year history of retreats, mission trips, outreach events, worship team, Sunday and Wednesday programming and special events.  NSL also has a good history of training adult volunteers to assist the youth pastor in ministry.

Northwood Church is a church of approximately 300 people in Maple Grove, Minnesota, and is constructing her first ministry building, taking occupancy in summer 2023.  Interested applicants can send resumes and teaching videos to careers@northwood.cc

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree required and divinity degree desirable (or pursuing divinity degree).
  2. Demonstrated experience in working with youth in a local church setting.
  3. Ability to understand and relate to junior and senior high students and families.
  4. Ability to lead in program design and implementation.
  5. Ability to integrate student ministry with the rest of the church ministry.
  6. Seeking to become more like Jesus Christ in character and relationships.
  7. Endorse and support the Church Covenant and Statement of Faith as stated in the Northwood Church Constitution.
  8. Evidence a commitment to the Northwood Church Purpose Statement – helping more people believe in Jesus Christ and become more like him.
  9. Support the traditional evangelical theology for which Northwood Church stands.
  10. Become and remain a member in good standing of Northwood Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Youth Pastor shall give direction and ministry to junior and senior high students and their families. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Invest time with junior and senior high students and families to know individuals and minister to them.
  2. Develop and expand all youth ministry programs, including Wednesday evening and Sunday morning programming.
  3. Recruit, train and supervise volunteer leaders.
  4. Encourage and integrate community, discipleship and outreach into all programs.
  5. Integrate Junior and Senior High programs and students into the life of Northwood Church.
  6. Develop and maintain written annual plans for junior and senior high youth ministries.
  7. Manage youth ministry website and use social media appropriately for ministry.
  8. Manage ministry within approved budget and track expenses in a timely manner.
  9. Maintain meaningful contact and participation with parents of junior and senior high students, including good communication with parents regarding planned ministry trips with students.
  10. Support and equip parents through the journey of Godly parenting.
  11. Participate in leadership direction of special missions programs, outreach activities, social events and teaching sessions.
  12. Participate in other ministry functions as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  13. Oversee Sunday morning worship service livestream ministry.

RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports to the Senior Pastor.
  2. Manages youth ministry volunteers.
  3. Works with ministry teams related to youth and family ministry.
  4. Collaborates with other members of the church staff, especially Children and Family Ministry Pastor and Worship Arts Pastor, and all support staff.
